>> TOYOTA DAY
On the 8th I went back to Brisbane once, to meet the No.1 Aussie TOYOTA freak, ALAN, and to go to the TOYOTA day he holds where a whole bunch of New and Old TOYOTAs come out and picnic together. From the oldest Celica to the Corona, and even 86Levins. Antenna Balls that Shige Suganuma brought were passed out as game prizes, and the whole picnic was done by 13o'clock.
>> ALAN's Warehouse
We went to ALAN's personal warehouse next, and that was humongous too! There were old CROWNS, Coronas, Colts, and various parts and everything lined up all neat and tidy. The ALAN ROOM was full of parts lists and catalogues that he had collected over the years. Even a room just for scale model cars, this was a TOYOTA lover's paradise.
>> Aussie Cruizin' magazine & dragway wheels
The Cruizin' magazine is one of the only 2 magazines in Aussie. The other is the StreetRodding magazine. They just got themselves moved into a new office just 2 monthes ago so the place was still a little quirky but GAVIN and WAYNE, the representatives, were kind and let us sit and chat for a while. Check the magazine out!

They took me to the DRAGWAY factory where the only Aussie Original Billet wheels are made. The quality here was astonishing.

>> Paul's Smooth Cruizin' Body Shop & Dave's garage
The next place we went to was Paul the Grouch's place. He, we heard was a great body man, and so we felt a little awkward walking in, but turned out that he was one cool lad. So I got a photo of him and his family, and the model you see in his hand is handmade by him. And he loves HotRod and KUSTOM. On weekends, his shop turns in to a chatting lounge.
I heard Paul was working on a 32 Ford so he took us to see it at Dave's place. We walked thru the house by the pool and saw us a beautiful frame. Dave said it should be done by Christmas.
>> Conclusion
The Gold Coast is a temporate area, and not much humidity so Car lovers, and Surf Lovers, this is the place for you. The people there seemed so happy and cheerful and time seemed to go very slowly. And lastly I would like to say thank you to all the guys that bought me beers and chatted with us, Thanks so much! See you next year!!
